Hi, my name’s Dave Munn (Munzy). My career path has been anything but straight – taking me from social services in London, and art sales in Galway, to teaching in Hamburg and starting an NGO in Botswana for orphaned kids.

These adventures are my biggest asset. They gave me a deep understanding of what makes people tick, and how to elicit inspiring truths from them while the camera is rolling.

I arrived in Auckland in 2007 and started work as a fundraiser for an NGO focused on mentoring young people. After a year I knew I needed to do something more creative and with a team. So – I emailed some key people at big Advertising Agencies, asked for a job and soon got pulled into the incredible culture and creativity of Colenso BBDO, followed by FCB.

After learning the ropes, working in Account Service, then into shooting video across eleven amazing years at two Advertising Agencies, it’s fair to say I was satisfied with the creativity in advertising and award winning work I’d been lucky enough to be part of.

So how do you top that?

With a big kick up the bum – a benign brain tumour – which clearly told me to follow my heart and embrace the precious time we have left.

So I launched this online marketing business, Hot Butter Productions in 2019 with one goal: to share those high-level skills with ambitious Kiwi business owners who are ready to boost lead generation, increase their revenue and scale.
